About Us

Alec Taylor started the ‘Memoirs On Camera’ project in 2011. After many months of experimentation, he recorded his first full-length, 60-minute Personal Video Memoir with Eric Guiry in Dublin.

THE ERIC GUIRY STORY
His life story tells of the struggle he faced as a Jesuit priest who chose to follow his human heart – into a new life as a family man with his wife Ursula, and three daughters. Eric has generously allowed his memoir to be shown to those interested in doing the same as he did – recording their life story on video.

FORMER TV INTERVIEWER
Alec draws on the interviewing skills he acquired as a TV presenter and interviewer in London in the 70s and 80s. His later career as a media trainer led to him recording interviews on basic, but adequate, video equipment.

FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS
Alec WorkingPutting these skills together allowed him to offer a low-cost Personal Video Memoir, aimed primarily at family members and friends.

SOCIAL AND CORPORATE HISTORY NETWORK
He is now gradually building a network of fellow ‘personal historians’ based on the concept used by Memoirs On Camera. He is also branching out to produce short history videos for companies, communities, clubs, and organisations.

CAPTURING KNOWLEDGE AND PASSING IT ON
A further development is the ‘Knowledge Transfer Video Memoir’, which seeks to record on video the information and wisdom that is too easily lost when the knowledge of key persons is lost.
